Season of Nonviolence celebration to continue this weekend

The Season of Nonviolence, a 64 day celebration of the philosophies of Martin Luther King Jr. and Mahatma Gandhi, kicked off a series of events last weekend.

Participate this weekend by attending the play “A Single Woman,” a play about the Jeannette Rankin, the first woman elected to Congress. The show begins at 2 p.m. at the Banner Grange off McCourtney Road in Grass Valley. Tickets cost $10 if bought in advance.

A Season of Nonviolence began in 1998 to inculcate peace and compassion and foster dialogue in communities across the country.
