Schoolhouse hosts LaFamilia Pena-Govea

LaFamilia Pena-Govea is returning Friday to North Columbia Schoolhouse on the San Juan Ridge.

Amber Jo Manuel, the executive director of the center, said, “We welcome back this family of talented multi-instrumentalists, whose infectious music got the entire audience on its feet at the 2004 North Columbia Folklife Festival.”

From San Francisco, the group plays Mexican, Tex-Mex, and Colombian music – very danceable.

Tickets – $15 general admission and $6 children under 12 – are available in Grass Valley at BriarPatch Market and Love Shack Records, and on the Ridge at Mother Trucker’s.

Call 265-2826 for more information.

The North Columbia Schoolhouse is located at 17894 Tyler Foote Road. The show begins at 7 p.m.
