Salsa to put a spring in your step

Salsa Sierra, marking its third year of bringing live salsa music and dance instruction to Grass Valley, is planning a day of salsa with guests Orquestra Universal, Yemaya Salsa from Sacramento, and La Evolucion from San Francisco. Performances and dance workshops are on tap for this day-long event Saturday, which starts at 10 a.m. with a beginning salsa dance class and ends with a dance in the evening”all at St. Joseph’s Cultural Center, 410 S. Church St., Grass Valley.

Beginning Salsa Workshop taught by Salsa Sierra 10-Noon

Afro-Cuban Styling for Men and Women taught by La Evolucion 1-2 p.m.

Social Dance Variations for Everyone taught by Yemaya 2-3 p.m.

Intermediate Patterns and Variations taught by Yemaya 3:30 ? 4:30 p.m.

Simple Dips and Flashy Moves taught by La Evolucion 4:30 – 5:30 p.m.

$20.00 for the beginning workshop (or $25.00 at the door)

$12.00 per workshop in the afternoon or 3 for $30 and 4 for $40.00

($15.00 at the door per workshop, 3 for $35.00 and 4 for $45.00)
