Sadie Christiansen

Memorial services for Sadie C. Christiansen of Penn Valley will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 615 Hollow Way in Nevada City.

Mrs. Christiansen died Monday, Feb. 2, in Grass Valley. She was 88.

She was born Sept. 11, 1915, in Idaho, to Andrew and Emma Anderson. She graduated from Thomas High School in Thomas, Idaho. She married Chancey Ray Christiansen Dec. 8, 1934, in Blackfoot, Idaho. She was a homemaker for 50 years. She was an avid painter, seamstress, bridge player and traveler.



She is survived by her nieces and nephews Rochelle Markins of Fairfield, Randall Smith of Grass Valley, Robyn Wilgus of Livermore, Christine Bush of Maryland, Erick Smith of Fairfax, Tom Pendlebury of Santa Barbara, Frank and Scott Smith of Orinda, Barry Jones of Murry, Idaho; and sisters-in-law Della Pendlebury and Melba Smith of Orinda. She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.




Arrangements are under the direction of the Neptune Society of Northern California Grass Valley Branch.
