Sac poets will get spiritual Friday in GV

Sacramento poets JoAnn Anglin, Tom Goff and Nora Staklis will speak on spirituality at a public poetry reading Friday in Grass Valley.

The poets lead a monthly poetry series at the Unitarian Universalist Society of Sacramento. Friday’s reading will be at Unitarian Universalist Community of the Mountains in Grass Valley.



Anglin is a member of Los Escritores del Nuevo Sol (Writers of the New Sun), the Third Sunday Poets, the Sacramento Poetry Center and the California Poets in the Schools. Her work was last published in the “Sacramento Anthology: 100 Poems About Sacramento.”




Goff, a poet and instructional assistant at the American River College Reading Center, is a “Poetry Now” editor. His works have been published in “Tule Review,” “Poetry Now,” the “American River Review,” “One Dog Press,” “Poetry Depth Quarterly,” the online magazine “Perihelion” and the “Sacramento Anthology.” He co-hosts the South Natomas Public Library poetry series.

Staklis has contributed to the “American River Review,” “Poetry Now,” “One Dog Press,” “The Zangspur Review” and Internet ‘zines.

An open mike session for spiritual poems will follow Friday’s 7 p.m. reading.
