Ruth Phelan

Graveside services for Ruth Lucille Phelan of Grass Valley will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. today at Greenwood Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Grass Valley.

Mrs. Phelan died Tuesday, Jan. 28, in Grass Valley. She was 75.

She was born July 8, 1927, in Modesto to John Lester Bennett and Ruth VanSite. She married William H. Phelan in 1947 at St. Mary’s in Grass Valley. She was a member of the election board and Good Will. She enjoyed hair designing.



She is survived by daughters Sharon C. Harvey of Lakeview, Ore., and Jacklyn R. Law of Edna, Texas; sister, Patricia F. Phelan of San Francisco; nephew, Stephen P. Phelan of Pacifica; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William H. Phelan; and brother, Bud Bennett.




Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel of the Angels Mortuary.
