Ruth Dobbins

No public services will be held for Ruth Pricilla Dobbins, who passed away March 7 at Springhill Manor in Grass Valley. She was 92.

Mrs. Dobbins was born April 11, 1914, to Walter C. and Pricilla Larsen in Pittsburgh. Her early life was spent in Wilmington, where she graduated from Banning High School.

Mrs. Dobbins’ later years were spent in Northern California, where she enjoyed her home on Moonshine Road on the Middle Fork of the Yuba River. She loved to cook and liked nothing better than to have her family and friends gather for a feast.



Mrs. Dobbins is survived by her brother, Ralph Larsen of Kelseyville; sons and daughters-in-law Larry and Antonia Dobbins and Dwayne and Chris Dobbins of Camptonville; daughter and son-in-law, Jeanne and Don Drexel of Los Gatos; and five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of more than 60 years, John Read Dobbins, in 2002.

Mrs. Dobbins was a kind and caring lady and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.




According to her wishes, Mrs. Dobbins’ ashes will be scattered at sea.
