Rubye Maynord

Services for Rubye P. Maynord of Auburn will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Sierra Pines Methodist Church, 22559 W. Hacienda Dr., near Lake of the Pines.

Mrs. Maynord died Wednesday, Jan. 8, at home. She was 78.

She was born on July 28, 1924, in Willow Grove, Tenn., to Dibrel and Rosa Huffer. She was raised and attended school in Willow Grove. She married Joe Maynord on Feb. 7, 1944, in Cookville, Tenn. She was a homemaker for 59 years.

She was active on the Environmental Control Committee at Lake of the Pines. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Fleet Reserve, the Lake of the Pines Ladies 9 Hole Golf Club, the Lake of the Pines Firebelles, and played bridge with numerous groups.

She is survived by her husband, Joe P. Maynord of Auburn; daughters Patricia Maynord of San Anselmo and Barbara Maynord-Chuse of San Diego; sisters Ruth Simmons of Hot Springs, Ark., and Ann Parrott of Detroit, Mich.; one grandchild and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Eddie, Ben and Leland.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Sutter Auburn Faith Hospice, 11795 Education St., Auburn 95602.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Neptune Society of Northern California Grass Valley Branch.
