Roy Seagraves

Roy Seagraves of Penn Valley died Friday, Nov. 23, in Auburn.

No services were conducted.



Mr. Seagraves was born May 18, 1909, in Indiana. He moved from Olympia, Wash., to Grass Valley in 1943. He was a deputy district attorney then Superior Court judge in San Mateo County for many years. He retired from a position with the state of California.




He was also a captain in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was the author of “The Foundation of Research in Education.” He was the founder and president of the Foundation of Education and the Social Cybernetics Institute. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, the outdoors and playing cards.

He is survived by his wife, Audrey; sons Gordon and John; and daughter, Dorna.

Arrangements were under the direction of Chapel of the Angels.
