Rose Piland

Memorial services for Rose Marie Piland of Corning will be conducted at a later date.

Mrs. Piland died Saturday, Jan.18. She was 68.



She was born in Red Bluff on Aug. 5, 1934. She married David Alfred Piland in Reno in 1951, and they lived in the town of Washington.

She managed the Washington General Store and the River Rest Campground. Upon the death of her husband in 1972, she returned to Corning and became the manager of the Economy Inn Motel.




She is survived by her daughters Midge Piland of Truckee and Tina Riggs of Auburn; sons Bill Ribble of Columbia and Ted Piland of Nevada City; brother, Bill Lockie of Richfield; sisters Nellie Rider and Edna Cameron, both of Grass Valley; eight grandsons, seven granddaughters; one great-grandson and one great-granddaughter.

Hall Brothers Corning Mortuary is in charge of the arrangements.
