Private family services for Rose O’Grady will be conducted.

Mrs. O’Grady died Saturday, Feb. 1.

She was born on April 8, 1919, in Oakland, to John and Virginia Gouveia and was one of 10 children.

She was an honor roll student and graduated from Castlemont High School in Oakland.

She worked for Superior Concrete of San Leandro as an executive secretary and business manager for 25 years.

She married John in 1969, and they retired to Grass Valley in 1974. She enjoyed gourmet cooking. She was an avid golfer and was a member of the Nevada County Country Club. She also enjoyed ballroom dancing and was an accomplished Hawaiian dancer.

She is survived by her husband, John O’Grady; children David Costa of Florence, Ore., and Nancy Sanders of Oakland; stepdaughter Jacqueline Raboteau of Grass Valley; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Foothills, 12399 Nevada City Highway, Grass Valley 95945.
