Rose D. Wood

Memorial services for Rose D. Wood will take place at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 18, at Abundant Life Community Church, 10795 Alta St., Grass Valley. Ms. Wood passed away March 12 in Grass Valley. She was 72.

Mrs. Wood was born Oct. 21, 1934, to Jerome and Ann “Prigley” Brown in Sacramento. She graduated from high school and from Heald Business School. Ms. Wood worked for Bell Telephone Co. in Auburn, was a proofreader for Litton Laboratory and was a maid at the National Hotel.

She was a member of Abundant Life Community Church.



Ms. Wood’s hobbies included fishing, gambling, traveling and going to church.

She is survived by companion John Watson of Rough and Ready; daughter, Kim Garney of Indianapolis, Md.; son, Kirk Wood of Big Bear; daughter, Hollie Forshe of Plumes Lake; and numerous nieces and nephews.




Memorial contributions can be made to your favorite charity.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary.
