Ronald Howell

Services for Ronald Thomas “Tom” Howell of Grass Valley will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday at the Nevada City chapel of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary.



Mr. Howell died Tuesday, April 16, in Grass Valley. He was 78.




He was born on Sept. 3, 1923, in Pasadena, to Ronald John and Odessa Ruth (Lamb) Howell. He married Bonnie on Sept. 2, 1945, in Londale.

He was retired from the federal government as a Department of Air Force civilian aerospace engineer. He was past president of the Folsom Moose Lodge. He enjoyed his dog, “Odie.”

He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Howell of Grass Valley; daughters Sandra Ferguson of Grass Valley and Linda Redmon of Rancho Cordova; daughter and son-in-law, Lillian and Karl Albaeck of Edmonds, Wash.; sister, Barbara Furan of Yucca, Ariz; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and numerous brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ronald John Howell, in 1961; mother, Odessa Ruth Lamb Howell Frey Garrett, in 1999; and son, Ronald John Howell, in 1954.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Cancer Society.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary.
