Roger Gemme

Roger Louis Gemme, 64, died Thursday, Jan. 13, in Dobson House hospice in Chandler, Ariz.

In accordance with his wishes, there will be no services.

He was born June 12, 1940, in Hartford, Conn., and was raised in Sturbridge, Mass. He served in the U.S. Army for six years, served two terms on the national board of directors for the Theosophical Society in America, and enjoyed his career as a sign painter and jeweler. He was a certified astrologer and Reiki master, teaching both to others. He moved to California in 1983, living in Ojai for nearly 18 years and then in Nevada City for four years.



He is survived by his wife, Elaine of Grass Valley; his first wife, Barbara of Springfield, Va.; brothers Richard A. Gemme Sr. of Worcester, Mass., and Robert J. Gemme of Sturbridge, Mass.; sister, Annette M. Donovan of Cocoa Beach, Fla.; daughters Michelle A. Bradshaw of Aurora, Colo., Laura G. Pruteanu of Cary, N.C., and Missi M. Taylor of Buford, Ga.; stepchildren Fredrick R. Posey of Rio Medina, Texas, LeeAnn Curtis of Truckee and Nancy Crowell of San Antonio, Texas; and 12 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Louis J. Gemme; mother, Rita G. Durocher; and sister, Constance Gemme.
