Robert Watson sponsored obituary
Robert (Yamaha Bob) Watson 2-11-1942 to 1-30-2008
Bob Watson was born February 11, 1942, in Patterson, N.J., to Catherine and Robert M. Watson. He served in Korea for the U.S. Army. He retired from Yellow Freight as a truck driver in 1999 and owned St. Clair Bar and Restaurant Supply Co. from 2000 to 2004. He was a member of Teamsters Local 692 in Long Beach. Bob enjoyed motorcycles, golf and basketball. He ran track when he was in high school and was part of an “all star” high school baseball team.
Bob never knew a stranger. He was friendly and fun loving. He rode his motorcycle around the county stopping at various delis, bake shops, and other friends along the way. He got great pleasure out of doing simple acts of kindness, often for someone he just met. One recent example of this was helping a contractor working on a neighbor’s property find his missing dog. This simple thing gave him great pleasure and he was so happy to find this person’s dog and make sure she got back home safely. Most of all he was kind and generous to everyone, and because of it many people are hurting from the loss of his passing.
Devoted and loyal husband to Penny for 35 years. Beloved brother to Roy Watson, loving father to R. Scott Watson (son), Melissa Robards (daughter), and Jocelyn Jackson (step-daughter). Playful and loving grandfather to Jesse Robards, Kayla Watson, Jacquelynn Watson, Sebastian Watson, and Hailey Jackson-Pipes. Special and trusted friend to so many.

1st Corinthians 13:4-8 describes my husband.
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil, but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.
I thanked God every day for him, and wish we could have had more time together.
– Penny Watson
