Robert Plante

A memorial service for Robert Joseph “Frenchie” Plante of Camptonville was Thursday on the East Coast.

Mr. Plante died Sunday, Oct. 27, in Camptonville. He was 72.



He was born Jan. 30, 1930, in Bellingham, Mass., to Romeo and Florida Plante. He served in the U.S. Army.

He worked in carpentry and gold mining. He enjoyed fishing and gardening.




He is survived by his companion of 36 years, Patricia Dusablon of Camptonville; stepson, Ronald Dusablon of Camptonville; sons Romeo and Robert Perry of Woonsocket, R.I.; daughters Jean Plante of Woonsocket, Pearl Fontaine of Kent, Wash., and Monique Taylor of Massachusetts; stepdaughter, Sherry Cloutier of Colorado; sisters Estelle Violette of Rhode Island, and Ailene Zielinski, Jeanette Morretti, Dorothy Pavoni and Pearl Gautier, all of Massachusetts; and brothers Norman and Gerald Plante of Massachusetts and Raymond Plante of Florida.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary.
