Robert Allen

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 14, at First Baptist Church, 1866 Ridge Road, Grass Valley, for Robert Ray Allen. Mr. Allen was 83.

Mr. Allen was born July 31, 1924, to Clyde and Fannie Allen in Chilicothe, Mo. He served in the South Pacific during World War II from 1943-1946. Following his duty in the South Pacific, Mr. Allen began working in heavy construction and he and his family traveled extensively to his different jobs. He worked on such projects as the St. Lawrence Sea Way in Upstate New York, Pyramid Dam in Castaic and Chicago Park Powerhouse in Chicago Park. Mr. Allen retired and moved to the Grass Valley area in 1974.

Mr. Allen is survived by his wife, Muriel Allen; daughters, Wanda Alger, Patty Dinwiddie and Donna Manoguerra; grandchildren, Wayne Alger, Cherie Johnson, DyAnna Davis, Randi Jones, Eddie and Robert Forbes, Dean Walker, Danny Walker, Dawn Harbour, Derek and Rachel Manoguerra; and 34 great-grandchildren.



The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the New Covenant Baptist Church, 453 S. Auburn St., Grass Valley, for the free lunch program offered to the students at the Park Ave. Alternative Education Site.

Mr. Allen will be truly missed.
