Roamin’ Angels recognized with Award of Merit

Ron Cherry, President, Roamin' Angels Car Club

The Roamin’ Angels Car Club of Grass Valley received the Award of Merit for the Western region in the Eagle One Golden Rule Award competition. This event recognizes American car clubs who give outstanding service to their community. This is the twelfth year that Eagle One, a company known for many automotive products, has made such awards and the first time this chapter of the Roamin’ Angels has received it.

The Roamin’ Angels are well known for charitable activities like their annual toy drive and their student scholarships. Eagle One gives a Golden Rule Award and an Award of Merit in four regoins of the United States, for a total of eight, so it is a high honor to receive on of these awards.

“We are very pleased to have received the Award of Merit,” said Grass Valley club president Ron Cherry. “Our members love our community and we do not serve it for recognition but it is nice to have it. The club that won overall is based in Southern California and, with no disrespect to them, have a bigger population base for their club. Still, we will, as the old slogan goes, ‘try harder.’ Maybe next year we will take top honors. The Roamin’ Angels have the best car club in the U.S. And you can quote me on that.”

As part of the award, many Eagle One products were donated to the Roamin’ Angels to use a raffle prizes for their local car show to be held the second week of September at the Nevada County Fairgrounds. Profits from Roamin’ Angels’ events, including the Roamin’ Angels’ car show, go to community charities and scholarships.
