Rita Kuluz

Visitation for family and friends of Rita Kuluz of Grass Valley will be from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday at the Nevada City chapel of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary. A Mass will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Grass Valley. Graveside services will follow at Sierra Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Nevada City.

Mrs. Kuluz died Thursday, Aug. 12, in Grass Valley. She was 76.

She was born Nov. 18, 1927, in Colorado Springs, Colo., to Zenon and Librada Gonzalez. She attended Heald College for two years. She married Anthony Kuluz on June 17, 1987, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Grass Valley. She was a housewife for 18 years. She was a member of the Catholic Ladies Relief Society. She enjoyed traveling, knitting, walking, spending time with her children and grandchildren and playing the one-armed bandits.



She is survived by her husband, Anthony Kuluz of Grass Valley; sons Arthur Cordoua of San Mateo, Larry Cordoua of Burlingame and Paul Cordoua of Newark; daughters Mary Cordoua of Fremont and Annette Moneyhun of Manteca; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.




Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary.
