Rideout Health to open expanded cancer center

Third District Congressman John Garamendi is scheduled to be among the VIPs Thursday at the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the newly expanded Rideout Cancer Center, a partnership of Rideout Health and UC Davis Health System.

According to a news release, the $20 million expansion adds 16,261 square feet of new construction, making the entire facility more than 42,000 square feet and adding 11 additional transfusion bays, for a total of 25; six additional exam rooms for a total of 14; one new PET CT scanner; one new ultrasound; one new True Beam Linear Accelerator; and a remodeled pharmacy, new reception and waiting lounge, along with enhanced outdoor spaces.

The ceremony is planned for 5;30 p.m. Thursday at Rideout Cancer Center, 618 5th St. in Marysville.
