Richard Wiborn

Services for Richard J. Wiborn of Penn Valley will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 16, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Grass Valley.

Mr. Wiborn died Tuesday, March 22, in Grass Valley. He was 74.

He was born May 30, 1930, in Brooklyn, N.Y., to Gus and Anna Wiborn. He graduated from Santa Clara University, and served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He married Diane on May 16, 1959. He worked in labor relations at Kaiser Cement and Gypsum. He enjoyed senior softball and was an avid 49er fan.

He is survived by his wife, Diane Wiborn of Penn Valley; daughter, Deborah A. Wiborn of San Jose; sons Kurt P. Wiborn of Sunnyvale, Joseph M. Wiborn of Pleasanton; daughters-in-law Martha and Karin; and grandchildren Gabriela, Benjamin, Elizabeth and Michael.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Foothills.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary.
