Richard Smith

Interment for Richard J. Smith of Penn Valley will take place at the New Auburn District Cemetery, 1040 Collins Dr. in Auburn.

Mr. Smith died Monday, Sept. 27, in Penn Valley. He was 79.

He was born on Aug. 29, 1925, in Brownsville, Neb. He had been a resident of Penn Valley for the past six years, he was a prior resident of Auburn for 35 years.



He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law Polly and David Paulus, Charline and Mike Workman, and Donna and Jim Parnell; son, David Smith; daughter, Linda Sedar; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and companion, Nancy Lee. He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Pauline, in 1994.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Foothills.




Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel of the Hills in Auburn.
