Richard May

Private services for Richard Matthew “Reliable Rick” May of Grass Valley will be conducted. His ashes will be scattered at Lake Tahoe, Mendicino, and the Pacific Ocean.

Mr. May died Saturday, Jan. 22, in Grass Valley. He was 47.

He was born Jan. 27, 1957, in Centralia, Ill., to Robert and Betty May. He completed 10th grade and had lots of computer skills and schooling. He married Candy on April 4, 1993, in Nevada. He was self employed. He enjoyed playing the guitar, writing music, and writing Web sites.



He is survived by his wife, Candy May of Grass Valley; mother, Betty May of San Jacinto; sisters, Linda Morris of Reddington Shores, Fla., and Vanessa May of St. Petersburg, Fla.; brother, James May of Ehrenberg, Ariz.; stepdaughter, Jaclyn Wilcoxen of Grass Valley; brother-in-law, Doug Hunt of Grass Valley; aunt, Helen Kagy; nephews John, Jeremy and Justin May and James Morris; nieces Julie May and Kara Cauter. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert May on May 7, 2003; and stepdaughter, Rayea Wilcoxen on Aug. 6, 1996.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Foothills, 12399 Nevada City Highway, Grass Valley 95945.




Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary.
