Richard Hagenow

Richard “Hag” Hagenow passed away May 31, 2013, at home with his wife, daughter, granddaughter and son-in-law by his side after fighting a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Richard was born Oct. 15, 1942, in Harford, Conn., to Sidney and Dorothy (Baily) Hagenow. He attended Glastonbury High School in Connecticut.

He married Gwynne on Jan. 31, 1976, at Plymouth Congregational Church, Newport Beach, Calif. He worked as a sales representative for AGFA Gevaert (a European Film Manufacturer). Richard then owned and operated Hags H2O Equipment Rental for 25 years.

Richard had a love for horses his entire life. He enjoyed building and creating beautiful landscaping, RVing, fishing, old cars, German shepherds and spending time with friends.

He is survived by his wife Gwynne Hagenow; daughter Tami (Ray) Reyes of Grass Valley; grandchildren Chelsea, Ciara, Anthony and Ezra of Grass Valley; mother Dorothy Hagenow of Conn.; sisters Linda (Gardiner) Bassett and Mary (David) Lewie; brother Kenny (Debbie) Hagenow; many cherished nieces and nephews; beloved German shepherd, Jessie; and many, many loyal friends.

He was predeceased by his cherished children, Elizabeth Hagenow and Richard Hegenow Jr.; his father, Sidney Hagenow and his beloved horses Willie and Fafa.

Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of the Foothills or a charity of your choice.
