Richard George

Visitation for family and friends of Richard S. George of Grass Valley will be from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday at the Nevada City chapel of Hooper & Weaver Mortuary. Services will be conducted at noon Wednesday at the Nevada City chapel of Hooper & Weaver Mortuary. Graveside services will follow at New Elm Ridge Cemetery in Grass Valley.

Mr. George died Thursday, March 2, in Grass Valley. He was 68.

He was born April 17, 1937, in Racine, Wis., to Steve and Helen George. He served in the U.S. Marines. He married Carole on Aug. 17, 1968, in Los Angeles. He retired from Verizon. He was a member of Lions Club and the Independent Telephone Pioneers. He enjoyed woodworking and furniture.



He is survived by his wife, Carole George of Grass Valley; son, Christian George of Santa Barbara; sister, Marie Jaskulske of Racine, Wis.; brother, John George of Racine, Wis.; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper & Weaver Mortuary.
