Richard Armstrong

Services for Richard G. Armstrong of Grass Valley will be conducted at a later date.

Mr. Armstrong died Friday, April 26, in Grass Valley. He was 69.

He was born Nov. 2, 1932, in Brooklyn, N.Y., to Bill and Katherine Armstrong. He graduated from Hayward High School in 1950. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1951 to 1954 during the Korean War.



He was the owner/operator of the Monte Vista Inn in Dutch Flat for more than 15 years. He enjoyed golf, tennis and playing poker.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth Dutton of Grass Valley; daughters Sharon Himenes of Nevada City, Pamela Walsmith of Athol, Iowa, and Nancy Dutton of Carson City, Nev.; sisters Patricia Lockhart of San Francisco and Katherine Thoresen of Los Gatos; and numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews.




Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Foothills.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary.
