Republican women attend leadership workshop

Six members from Nevada County Republican Women Federated joined 121 other California Federated Republican Women in Rancho Cordova on Jan. 19 for the annual California Federation of Republican Women Northern Division Leadership Workshop. This one-day event was jammed with information designed to strengthen club operations and provide information to keep members well-informed.

The Nevada County branch was recognized as the first place recipient for their monthly newsletter, The Nugget, at both the state and Northern Division level.

The next regular meeting is set for Feb. 19 at Alta Sierra Country Club. Keynote speaker will be Sheriff Keith Royal who will be speaking on medical marijuana in Nevada County. Joining Sheriff Royal will be Don Bessee who sits on the steering committee for the Coalition for a Drug Free Nevada County.



To make a reservation, call 530-274-0803 by Feb. 11. Regular meetings are held the third Tuesday of the month, September through June, at Alta Sierra Country Club, 11897 Tammy Way, Grass Valley. Social hour begins at 11:30 a.m. and meetings start at noon.
