Reno man jailed after allegedly biting part of ear

RENO, Nev. — A 26-year-old Reno man has been arrested after police say he bit off part of his ex-brother-in-law’s ear during a domestic dispute.

Police say Ramon Reyes-Galvin had gone to his former relative’s home Monday afternoon to confront him about the deportation of another family member. The two began to fight and Reyes-Galvin allegedly bit off a small part of the victim’s ear.

Officers were able to package the severed piece of ear so that surgeons could reattach it.

Reyes-Galvin fled the scene, but surrendered to police a few hours later. He has been booked into the Washoe County Jail on suspicion of mayhem, battery with substantial bodily harm, domestic violence. He also faces a misdemeanor warrant charging him with failure to appear in court.
