Remember what Easter means for life, salvation

Influenced by commercial advertisements, the celebration of Easter is limited for many people to coloring of dozens of eggs for children’s Easter egg hunt, to Easter bunnies or to dress up for “the Easter parade.” But the main reason for Easter is religious – the resurrection of Jesus Christ, who came back to life after being buried from Good Friday to Easter Sunday.

Christ’s resurrection is a unique event in human history. No other man has ever performed such a miracle. Jesus, the Son of God, became man to bring us the Good News of salvation. He healed the sick, fed the hungry and consoled the poor.

The risen Jesus appeared to His disciples on several occasions, had a meal with them and gave them final instructions for preaching the Gospel to the whole world. In celebrating the feast of Easter, Christians all over the world are rejoicing over Christ’s victory over death, which gives us a hope for new life – everlasting.
