Sierra Center for Positive Living

Rev. Sandra Fairbanks begins a new series, “Back to Basics.” Her first talk is “The Thing Itself,” at the Sierra Center for Positive Living, a Religious Science church.

The celebration begins at 10:30 a.m. at Banner Grange Hall, 12629 McCourtney Road in Grass Valley. Tapes of previous services are available at the church book store. Music this week by vocalist, Gracie MacKenzie.



Jim Townsend will lead the congregational music. Junior Church and Tween/Teens meet during the service. You are invited to stay for refreshments and conversation.

Twin Cities Church

Twin Cities Church is continuing a new message series this Sunday titled “Walking Wisely.” Pastor Ron Thompson’s message this week will be “Fit For Life.”

A new semester begins with Twin Cities Small Groups that meet throughout the community. These groups range from learning more about the Bible to recovery groups that use biblical truths to overcome addiction. This Sunday, there will be updated “Getting Connected” books distributed to help people look for a small group that best meets their needs.

Twin Cities meets every Sunday morning at the Veteran’s Hall in Grass Valley at 255 South Auburn St. They offer two services – 8:45 a.m. and 10:45 a.m.

They have children’s classes at both services. Junior high students meet at 8:45 a.m. and high school students meet at 10:45 a.m.

Unitarian Universalist Community of the Mountains

U. Utah Phillips: “Oral Language Communication” is this week’s program. Expressing our minds and hearts by speaking and singing together is the most dynamic way that we can build faith connections in our Community of the Mountains and its sphere of influence.

Phillips will give some examples in singing folk songs. Coordinator is John Church. Services are 11 a.m. Sunday at the Unitarian Universalist Community of the Mountains in Grass Valley.

Unity in the Gold Country

The Rev. Joe Sloan will give the lesson entitled “A Missing Child” this Sunday at Unity In The Gold Country.

Special music is by Patti Ann Da’ Cunda and the new Unity Choir. Services are held at 10:30 a.m. at Esterly Hall (Board of Realtors Building, lower level) located at 336 Crown Point Circle in Grass Valley.

Child care is available. Fellowship and refreshments follow. Youth church meets at the same time across the street in the Spiritual Learning Center at 333 Crown Point Circle, Suite 215.

A new Tai Chi series begins on Tuesday and a new class, “Bible Alive” begins on Wednesday. Both classes begin at 7 p.m. and are held in the Spiritual Learning Center.
