Enjoy a fresh start

Twin Cities Church is beginning a message series Sunday called “Steps to a Fresh Start.” The Rev. Ron Thompson will be delivering the message, “Admitting Reality.” The series is based on the eight beatitudes of Christ and 12-Step program.

Celebrate Recovery meets from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Sunday for a celebration and fellowship time at the Grass Valley Veterans Memorial Building, 255 S. Auburn St. The community is invited to attend this event, designed to celebrate God’s healing power through Christ-centered 12 steps. It will include table discussions, music, testimonies, coffee and dessert.



Twin Cities meets Sundays at 8:45 and 10:45 a.m. at the vets hall. There are children and junior high classes at both services; high school students meet at 10:45 a.m.

Guest speaks at Unity

Pam Smithson, a licensed Unity teacher, will present Sunday’s lesson “The Four Agreements” at 10:30 a.m. at Crown Point Hall, 336 Crown Point Circle in Grass Valley. Youth church for all ages meets at the same time across the street in the Spiritual Learning Center, 333 Crown Point Circle, Suite 215. Refreshments and fellowship are after the service.

Unity offers classes during the week at the learning center. Women’s Circle meets at 10 a.m. Tuesdays, and the “Course In Miracles” meets Thursdays. For information, call 274-2463 or go to http://www.unitygold.us.

Spirit quest begins

The Rev. Sandra Fairbanks speaks on “The Journey Begins,” the start of a “Spirit Quest” series at Sierra Center for Positive Living, a Religious Science church.

The celebration is at 10:30 a.m. Sunday at Banner Grange Hall, 12629 McCourtney Road in Grass Valley. Tapes of previous services are at the church bookstore.Music is by guest vocalist Sharon-Joy Jahoda. Junior church and ‘Tween/Teens meet during the service.

Crafts demonstrated

Grass Valley Adventist Church will be host to a gift fair from 1:30 to 4 p.m. Sunday. There will be six timed demonstrations of holiday ideas: quilting, wreath making, dessert making, creative memories, how to keep “Christ in Christmas” and making gift baskets. There will also be vendors, food sales, crafts and more. The event is sponsored by the Women’s Ministry of Grass Valley of Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Heed universe’s need

Guest speaker the Rev. Bob Bailey’s message is “The Universe Needs You” at 10:30 a.m. Sunday at Foothill Community Church of Religious Science. Soloist is Brenda Boston, accompanied by pianist Susan Carlson.

Licensed practitioners are available for prayer and spiritual guidance. Call the church office at 823-6986. The church is at 2945 First St. in DeWitt Center in Auburn.
