Church to hold Thanksgiving service

There will be a Thanksgiving service at 10 a.m. at The First Church of Christ, Scientist, 375 Crown Point Circle in Grass Valley.

Childcare will be provided. The special service will include readings from the Bible, and science and health with key to the Scriptures.

Fresh Start series

continues Sunday

Twin Cities Church will be continuing the message series 3Steps to a Fresh Start² on Sunday with Pastor Ron Thompson discussing 3Coming Clean.²

The Twin Cities 3New Community² service will be at 5:30 p.m. Sunday at the Veterans Hall, 255 S. Auburn St. in Grass Valley.

This is an evening service that emphasizes praise and worship.

The church band and New Community Chorus will perform. There will be a special time of communion.

Twin Cities meets every Sunday at the Veterans Hall at 8:45 and 10:45 a.m.

There are children1s classes at both services. Junior high students meet at 8:45 a.m. and high school students meet at 10:45 a.m.

The Daughters of the King, Emmanuel Episcopal Church of Grass Valley, are holding a Day of Reflection from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the church, 235 S. Church St. in Grass Valley.

The Rev. Toni Stuart, rector of St. Matthew1s in Sacramento, will address spiritual health in a time of crisis.

Registration is $15 in advance, $20 at the door. Bring a box lunch<beverages and dessert will be provided.

Advent concert features three musical groups

Grass Valley United Methodist Church presents an Advent Concert at 3 p.m. Dec. 1, featuring three groups: Grass Valley Male Voice Choir, Cornish Carol Choir and Wesley Ringers.

Admission is free with a donation to Habitat for Humanity. The church is located at 236 S. Church St. in Grass Valley. For more information, call 274-1951.

OFour Agreements1 book to be discussed Sunday

The message Sunday at Unity In The Gold Country will be 3Always Do Your Best,² the fourth of the 3Four Agreements² from the book by Don Miguel Ruiz.

The Rev. Joe Sloan will present the lesson with special music by Saune Stone.

Services are at 10:30 a.m. at Esterly Hall, Board of Realtors Building, lower level, 336 Crown Point Circle in Grass Valley.

Youth church meets at the same time across the street in the Spiritual Learning Center, 333 Crown Point Circle, Suite 215. A Thanksgiving potluck will follow the service.
