All Saints Sunday will be observed this week at Peace Lutheran Church at both the 8 and 10:45 a.m. services. On this day, we celebrate and give thanks for those who have gone before us. Pastor Richard Johnson will preach and preside, with Paul Perry at the organ.

Peace Lutheran is open during construction of its new fellowship center. Valet parking is available for those who need the service. Visitors are always welcome.

Pray Nevada County

Pray Nevada County – Seeking God on behalf of our communities. Open to all Christians. Pray Nevada County meets each Tuesday from noon to 1 p.m. to pray for our county governments and services, school and families, businesses and media and churches and parachurch ministries. Since August 1997, 15-25 people from 8-12 congregations have met each week to pray for our communities.

Sierra Center for Positive Living

Sierra Center for Positive Living, a Science of Mind church – A New Way to Think, A Better Way to Live. This Sunday, Madalyn Wade will talk about, “Invite Someone Dangerous to Tea.” The theme for November is “The Art of Spiritual Living.” Adult and Youth services start at 10:30 a.m. at the Banner Grange Hall, 12629 McCourtney Road in Grass Valley. Tapes of previous services are available at the church book store. It is Prayer Partner Sunday.

Jr. Church is geared to children 3 to 14. Child care available for babies and toddlers. Junior Church is in the Fellowship Hall in the Banner Grange, 12569 McCourtney Road, Grass Valley, at 10:30 a.m.

Join us for Lavender Roses, a live theater piece designed to change your thinking change your life at the Grass Valley Elks Lodge. Paul Perry entertains for 6:30 p.m. cocktail hour (no host bar and refreshments); 7:30 p.m. performance. Donation $10.

Sierra Pines United Methodist

Our guest preacher for this Sunday is the Rev. Kay Young, Pastor at the First United Methodist Church in Redding. Her theme will continue with the Book of Ruth, exploring Chapter 2 and its implications for us today. For Daily Devotional online, go to umc.org and click on “Read Today’s Devotion.”

Sierra Pines United Methodist Church offers two regular services, contemporary at 9 a.m. and traditional at 10:30 a.m. Child Care for children under the age of five is provided at all services. Sierra Pines UMC church is located at 22559 W. Hacienda Drive (near Lake of the Pines).

Sunday School for Children meet at 9 a.m. Middle School Youth meet at 9 a.m. Adult Sunday School is at 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m..

Friday, is Friday Fun Night for youth. This fun filled adventure begins at 6 p.m. in the Multi Purpose Room.

Sierra Presbyterian Church

On Tuesday we have a Healing Prayer service in our Sanctuary at 6:30 p.m. Anyone in the community in need of prayer for healing is invited to come.

Nov. 11 at 3 p.m. we have a gospel concert featuring The Good Twin all the way from Branson, Mo. All ages will enjoy this event, they promise a fun afternoon of songs and laughter. The concert is free; a love offering will be taken for Christian Encounter Ministries in Grass Valley.

Thanks to all who came and enjoyed our Harvest Fair last Friday. Your attendance made for a great time for all, especially the children as they enjoyed the games, costumes, treats, and the bounce-house. We hope to make this an annual community event, so mark your calendars.

Join us for Sunday workshop this week. Traditional at 9 a.m., Contemporary at 10:30 a.m., Evening CORE Worship at 5:15 p.m. Children’s programs and nursery care at all services.
