The people of Grace Lutheran Church welcome you to experience the peace and presence of Christ in your life. Pastor Degner’s sermon theme this week will be “Jesus Prays for His People,” based on the words of Jesus recorded in John 17. The Easter season is drawing to a close, followed by the season of Pentecost. Christ ascends, returning to His Father with the promise to return. All Christians wait expectantly for His return. In the meantime He gives us His Spirit – the Holy Spirit.

Unity in theGold Country

Join us this Sunday at our 10:30 a.m. service, when the Rev. Jerry Farrell will give the lesson on “Remembering.” Music for the service will be provided by Patty Anne Da’Cunha. Our Men’s Group and Women’s Group both meet at 10 a.m. on Tuesdays, and The Course in Miracles Group is held on Thursday evenings at 7. The Men’s Group will shortly begin reading “The Autobiography of a Yogi.” Our ever growing Youth Ministry provides Sunday school classes for children of all ages. Sierra Center for Positive Living

Sierra Center for Positive Living, a Science of Mind church – A New Way to Think, A Better Way to Live. The theme for May is “Personal Revelation – Renaissance of the Soul.” The Rev. Twin Cities Church

The message this Sunday will be “Lost and Tempted.” We hope that you will join us during this series as we learn how to move from the place of feeling lost or stuck to a better place.

Pray Nevada County

Pray Nevada County Ð Seeking God on behalf of our communities. Open to all Christians. Pray Nevada County meets each Tuesday from noon to 1 p.m. to pray for our county governments and services, schools and families, businesses and media, and churches and parachurch ministries. Since August 1997, 15-25 people from 8-12 congregations have met each week to pray for our communities.

May meetings will be held at Hedman’s Furniture in downtown Grass Valley. We will meet in an office on the Mill Street Level. New Beginnings Community Christian Fellowship

At New Beginnings we desire to share the Gospel and love of Jesus Christ, the risen Son of God, with our neighbors in our community and abroad. Solid Rock

Christian Church

We welcome you to join us at Solid Rock Christian Fellowship, where our goal is to study God’s word and strive to build stronger families and relationships with God.

Worship service starts at 11 a.m. with uplifting praise and worship music. Senior Pastor Jim Edwards will be teaching from God’s word. Our Sunday services begin at 10:30 a.m. with inspirational praise and worship followed by the pastor’s message. Peace Lutheran Church

A reception will be held at 10 a.m. this week at Peace Lutheran Church to bid farewell to the congregation’s organist, Emily Worthington. Ms. Worthington is moving to Ames, Iowa, to pursue her studies at Iowa State University.

Worship is at 8 and 10:45 a.m. Sunday, and child care is provided. The congregation celebrates the seventh Sunday of Easter with services of Holy Communion. Pastor Richard Johnson is the preacher this week.

Mountain Stream Meditation Center

Mountain Stream Meditation Center, a Buddhist Insight meditation group, meets Monday evenings from 7:30 to 9 at Wild Mountain Yoga, 574 Searls Ave. in Nevada City. On Monday Margo Cooper from Mountain Stream will lead a discussion on Tibetian images painted on Thangkas and lead a brief Tara Practice. All levels of experience are welcome.
