Grace Lutheran Church

Grace Lutheran Church, on Ridge Road, next to Nevada Union High School, welcomes you to worship this Sunday. This week, Pastor Degner’s sermon theme will be, “Discipleship Training,” based on I Corinthians 9:24-27. Paul uses the analogy of the athlete who prepares for a race. An athlete knows how to discipline himself that he might compete so as to win the prize. He is willing to work long and hard hours to compete in this race. So it is with discipleship. One can not be a disciple, a follower of Christ, and not be disciplined in faithful living.

Services are at 9 a.m. every Sunday with Family Christian Education Hour following at 10:30 a.m.

For more information call the church office at 273-7043.

Grace Lutheran Church

Grace Lutheran Church welcomes you to worship this Sunday. This week, Pastor Degner’s sermon theme will be, “Jesus, The Healing Servant.”

The gospel lesson for the day tells the story of Jesus healing Peter’s mother-in-law, as well as the townspeople having illnesses, and people possessed of demons. Jesus is the healer – healing people of their physical and spiritual infirmities. Everyone is looking for one kind of cure or another. Be it for a serious disease like cancer; the sickness of one’s child; to a broken heart. All human beings have an illness of one kind or another. Illnesses that are known and sicknesses we may not even be aware of. Jesus comes to be our healer. St. Mark tells us that everyone sought Jesus. Why? That he might heal them? Why do you seek Jesus?

Services are at 9 a.m. every Sunday with Family Christian Education Hour following at 10:30 a.m.

For more information call the church office at 273-7043.
