Aglow

Grass Valley’s next meeting is Thursday, June 12 at 9:45 a.m. Trudy Singh from Reno, Nev., will be our speaker. Praise and worship will be provided by Reverends George and Lillie Parker, LionSong Ministries. Aglow is a nondenominational Christian organization and all women are invited.

Pray Nevada County

Pray Nevada County, seeking God on behalf of our communities, is open to all Christians. Pray Nevada County meets each Tuesday from noon to 1 p.m. to pray for our county governments and services, schools and families, businesses, media, churches and para church ministries. Since August 1997, 15 to 25 people from eight to 12 congregations have met each week to pray for our communities.

Healing Rooms of Nevada County

The Healing Rooms of Nevada County are open. We pray for the healing for the body, soul and spirit. Everyone is welcome whether they attend church or not.

Emmanuel Episcopal Church

Emmanuel Episcopal Church has received a grant from the Episcopal Community Services of the Diocese of Northern California, to coordinate homeless outreach and services with Hospitality House. The ECS grant will assist Emmanuel with a coordinator position to work closely with Hospitality House in arranging shelter services and supportive assistance to persons and families who are in need of shelter and other human services.

Juneteenth, or Freedom Day, celebrates the liberation of the slaves on June 19, 1865. We like to point to all the social changes that have taken place since that appalling time in our nation’s history. But as Rev. Meghan Cefalu points out, when Rev. Jeremiah Wright was drawn into the national spotlight, it became clear that racism is still very present in our public dialogue. New members of our congregation will be welcomed during this service.
