Recycled Art – A new perspective at CFTA

Neighborhood Center of the Arts continues this year’s exhibition schedule with “Recycled Art – A New Perspective” on display through April 4 with a reception to be held from 4 to 6 p.m. tonight at The Center of the Arts, 314 Main Street, in Grass Valley.

The theme for the exhibition was inspired by canvas donated to NCA. The images on the canvases were a series of figure paintings and landscapes. NCA artists have painted over the original images as a starting point. The paintings have taken on a life of their own, evolving into a unique perspective only an NCA artist would be able to achieve.

NCA artists share in the proceeds from the sale of their artwork and are an important source of income for people with disabilities.

The Nevada County Courthouse and the Miners Family Health Center feature an ongoing exhibit of NCA art.

Upcoming exhibition locations include South Pine Cafe, Nevada City, April through May; The “House and Garden Show,” May through June; Broad Street Bistro, Nevada City in May; and Nevada City Winery in July.
