Recycle program sponsors poster design contest

Nevada County Recycles wants young artists to participate in the design of its poster for Earth Day 2007.

The contest is open to all students from grades K-12. The theme is recycling, with the intention of inspiring and promoting recycling in our community.

The age groupings will be by grade: K-2, 3-5, 6-8, and 9-12. The posters must be 11 x 17 inches in size and can include various media.



Winning posters will be printed and distributed to schools and appear in The Union Newspaper. Winners will be presented with certificates at the Eric W. Rood Administrative Center.

The deadline for entry is Friday, April 6. Submit entries to Allison Miller, Nevada County Recycles, Department of Transportation and Sanitation, Rood Center, 950 Maidu Ave., Nevada City, 95959, or to allison.miller@co.nevada.ca.us. For more information, call Miller at 265-1711.
