Reagan not like his father

Unlike his father, Mike Reagan used a hate article about Senator McCain revealing conservative panic over the moderate McCain popularity.

Unlike his father, Mike cannot acknowledge the growing Independent and Hispanic trends in the country.

The only line the Reagan child got right was “I am appalled by his contempt for the intelligence of his listeners.” This is true of all politicians today since the conventional wisdom for capturing votes is raising money for “sound bite” TV marketing ads. It works, which just confirms we are becoming a shallow electorate.

Even the attempt by Senator McCain to reform campaign finance is met with the young Reagan’s response that the bill “attacked free speech.”

Perhaps Mike Reagan will only be happy when we all just ignore substance and truth and die the slow death of blogs and bites.

Whatever the election outcome, current global economics and domestic political trends demand that we dance with the one who wins, not the one who was.
