Ready for new America

In the first presidential debate, I wanted to hear the presidential candidate, Senator John Kerry, lay out his plans for Iraq and for winning the war on terror. Presidential candidate John Kerry staked out a strong plan to bring peace to Iraq and to refocus our internal and external efforts to fight terrorists around the world. I was excited to hear a clear plan that calls for global alliances!

I wanted to hear Mr. Bush admit that changes in his approach to the situation in Iraq are now needed. Especially since his own intelligence services, military advisers, Republican colleagues, and his secretary of state have said that Iraq is in chaos! Mr. Bush still presents a version of Iraq seen through rose-colored glasses.

This debate made it clear: John Kerry can be a leader we can trust when it comes to our nation’s security, economy, and world standing. Mr. Bush had his chance; I’m ready for a new America.
