The Union’s new Religion section

Have you seen The Union’s new Religion section? Turn to Page C1 and check out Staff Writer Michelle Rindels’ story about our local congregation of Eastern Orthodox Christians.

The section also features photos from the recent visit by the Tibetan monks and briefs from area faith congregations.

The Religion section comes out every first and third Friday of the month in The Union.

Here’s a local church with an event coming up:

“Faith, science and the future:” Explore the relationship between science, technology, and faith – how this relationship affects our culture and how you can respond biblically. Topics include the origin of life, extraterrestrial life, contact with aliens, the gospels and the end. Chicago Park Bible Study starts at 3 p.m. Friday, March 12, sponsored by Grace Lutheran Church (LCMS). For more info, call (530) 477-7935.

Bear River grad night needs you

Lots of volunteers are needed to help make the high school’s safe and sober event a success – and it’s fun!

Grad night in southern Nevada County this year is from 11 p.m. Friday, June 11, to 5 a.m. the next morning. You can work a shift for two, three or four hours – or stay the night.

“We also need help decorating the school two days before graduation and the day of graduation for this magnificent event,” organizer Colleen VonLoren says.
