Re ‘Same-Sex marriage approval, fires could be linked’

In response to our neighbor’s letter dated June 27, we thought we would help him expand upon his illumination of God’s will:

The Midwestern flooding is God’s way of punishing America’s obese by washing the food supply down the river and making them row for shore (gluttony, sloth). The earthquake in China, killing thousands, is obviously God’s way of sticking it to those godless communist nationalists, lest they get too big for their britches (greed, avarice). The genocide, terror, and famine in Africa is due to the hand of God also, as he has had enough of the rampant spread of AIDS among all those heathens (lust).

And lastly, the California Supreme Court decision overturning the ban on same-sex marriage is a blatant slap by God to all of those straight couples, more than 50 percent of whom can’t stay married, to teach them the lesson that if you can’t see that what you have is special, maybe you don’t deserve to have it all to yourselves (pride, wrath).

Perhaps only those deserving, loving and committed souls should marry. Hmm, much like the two of us.
