I am truly sorry for the loss of your beloved pet. And whomever shot her is deplorable. But that said, you have to place the blame of her death squarely on your shoulders.

People move out to the country and think that their dogs can run free. They cannot. They are in danger of being killed by idiots with guns, coyotes or just the local rabid skunk.

If your precious pet was behind a good fence she would be with you today. Please put up a good, strong, high fence before you consider getting another companion animal.
