Re Cancer Center support

I want to thank Pam Jung at the Prospector for recognizing the talented artists in the Pine Tree Quilt Guild on their beautiful “opportunity quilt.” As the lucky winner of this incredible treasure, I need to clarify the information in the caption.

While I am also lucky to be the harp teacher for the now 10-year-long Harp Workshop Support Group, it is the Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital Cancer Center which provides the free harp classes to any cancer patient, survivor, or caretaker. The Cancer Center also offers groups in creative writing, clay sculpture, dream exploration, art therapy, and pilates, to name a few.

Our local cancer center lovingly and expertly treats the whole person. This is only one of the reasons it is another “incredible treasure” here in our community, for which we are all very “lucky.”
