Raymond Slupe

A Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Monday, July 16, at Walton’s Chapel of the Valley in Carson City for Raymond Slupe. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 17, at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church in Carson City. Inurnment will be held at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Grass Valley. Mr. Slupe passed away July 12 in Carson City, Nev. He was 79.

Mr. Slupe was born June 17, 1928, in Austin, Minn. A former resident of Nevada City and Walnut Creek, he resided in Carson City for the last 12 years. He was the former owner of Peterson’s Corner and a private pilot who loved flying, boating and fishing.

Mr. Slupe is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Dorothy Slupe of Carson City, Nev.; children Cathie Hess,of Martinez, Raetta Tokuda of Fairfield, Larry Slupe of Shingletown, Theresa Morgan of Longview and and Susan Allison of Martinez; half sister, DottieRay Naughton of Denver, Colo.; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and the dog, Minglee. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Patty Hess.
