Raymond Sanford

Services for Raymond Sanford of Auburn were conducted Sunday at the Light House Baptist Church in Auburn. Burial was at the Sanford Looney Ranch Cemetery in Grass Valley.

Mr. Sanford died Wednesday, Jan. 26, at Auburn Sierra Care. He was 62.

He was born April 16, 1942, in Oakland, to Willard G. and Jeannette Sanford. He graduated from Empire High School in Grass Valley. He served as a sergeant in the U.S. Air Force from 1961 to 1973, including service in the Vietnam War. He was a plumber for Roto Rooter. He married Patricia Brumbaugh on April 1, 1966, in Silina, Kan. He was a member of the Lighthouse Baptist Church, and Veteran of Foreign Wars. He enjoyed Biblical reading, four wheeling and was an artist.

He is survived by his son, Bill Sanford of Grass Valley; daughter, Vicki Sanford of Grass Valley; granddaughters Monica, Krystale, Jessica, Ashlie, Cindy, and Dagney all of Grass Valley, and Charolette of Texas; grandsons Dustin of Auburn, and Kirk of Grass Valley; sister, Carolyn Holmes of Auburn; father, Williard Sanford of Auburn; and ex-wife, Patricia Sanford of Grass Valley. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Jeannette Sanford; mother, Jeannette Sanford; and sister, Cynthia Sanford.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary.
