Raymond Jackson

Memorial services for Raymond Paul Jackson of Grass Valley will be conducted at 10 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 7, at Cedar Ridge Baptist Church. Burial will be at the New Elm Ridge Cemetery in Grass Valley.

Mr. Jackson died Wednesday, Jan. 28, in Grass Valley. He was 83.

He was born May 1, 1920, in Whittier, to Albert and Ida Jackson. He graduated from Fullerton High School in Fullerton. He served in the U.S. Merchant Marines. He married Lois on July 14, 1941, in the Canal Zone in Panama. He retired as president of Wooderly Steel and Manufacturing. He enjoyed stamp collecting, gardening, reading, traveling and his family.

He is survived by his wife, Lois Jackson of Grass Valley; daughter, Sue Jackson of Lompoc; sons and daughters-in-law Chuck and Luann Jackson, Gary and Sharon Jackson, and John and Joy Jackson all of Grass Valley; sister, Rachel Hageman of Whittier; 13 grandchildren and one great-grandson. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Ida Jackson.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Cedar Ridge Baptist Church or Hospice of the Foothills.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary.
