Ralph Hill

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 17, at Greenwood Memorial Gardens in Grass Valley, for Ralph David Hill. Mr. Hill, of Cambria, passed away July 11, in Torrance. He was 91.

Mr. Hill was born Jan. 13, 1916 to Allie Young Hill and Frank Robert Hill in Oregon.

Mr. Hill graduated from Los Angels High School and served as a lieutenant in the United States Army during World War II. He went on to serve in the Army Reserves, from which he retired in 1968.

May 11, 1941, he married Betty Graham in Yuma, Arizona.

Mr. Hill worked for Owens and Park Lumber Co. for 24 years and Gold Coast Reality for 12 years. Upon retirement, Mr. Hill lived in Nevada County for a number of years before moving to Cambria.

He was a member of the Rotary Club, Pismo Beach Chamber of Commerce and the United States Army Reserves, retired. In his free time, he enjoyed golfing, reading and chess.

Mr. Hill is survived by his daughters Teresa Hill, of Cambridge, Mass., and Wendy Feddersen, of Harvard, Mass.; son, David Hill, of Hermosa Beach; and grandchildren Pete Mayer, Sarah Hill, Eve Mayer, Ian Feddersen and Graham Feddersen. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Graham Hill, in 1996.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary.
