Ralph Goodwin

Services for Ralph A. Goodwin of Grass Valley will be conducted at a later date in Corning.

Mr. Goodwin died Sunday, Nov. 10, in Grass Valley. He was 87.



He was born Oct. 22, 1915, in Bristol, Conn., to Ralph and Jessie (Prothero) Goodwin. He married Barbara April 12, 1942, in Boulder City, Nev. He was a self-employed auto mechanic for more than 57 years. He was a member of the Olivet Masonic Lodge No. 205 F&AM in Corning, and Good Sams Travel Club. He enjoyed woodworking, building airplanes from aluminum cans, fishing and traveling.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Bobbie and Jim Heard of Grass Valley; son and daughter-in-law, Don and Sharon Allen of Reno; sisters Ruth Gilbert of Rosemead and Ona Mae Ruggio of Covina; seven grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara W. Goodwin, in 1998.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary.
