Ralph Condit

Services were held Aug. 3 in Lake Charles, La., for former Grass Valley resident Ralph M. Condit.

He died Wednesday, July 31, at his home in Lake Charles. He was 85.

Mr. Condit was a retired Oakland police inspector and state special investigator.



He was born Sept. 23, 1916, in Salt Lake City. He was a World War II veteran and served in the South Pacific.

He retired to Grass Valley and lived here for more than 20 years before moving to Lake Charles to be with family members.




He was a member of the Elks Club, SIRs, and Grass Roots Genealogy, all of the Grass Valley/Nevada City area.

He is survived by his sons, Rick of Lake Charles and Dennis of Bellevue, Wash.; and four grandsons.
